Challenges:

Implementing a refurbishment project on a 5 star hotel within an historic building, the project involved adding a two level extension whilst also refurbishing the public spaces, all while the hotel was still under operation. Part of PPM’s Brief included facilitating planning approval, in conjunction with the project team.

Solutions:

PPM went to great length to select the ideal project team of consultants for the client and their project. PPM also ensured our contract negotiation skills were leveraged for the client to ensure contract documentation and administration benefitted the project. Finally, PPM ensured the programme was fully explored to ensure gains were identified, and risks dealt with.

Results:

The project was able to be delivered within the budget, and to programme and whilst continuing to trade at expected levels. The project won the AHA award for ‘Best redeveloped Hotel in Australia’ that year.
