Challenges:
Delivering a five-stage upgrade and extension to increase an existing 45 room facility to 90 beds, the project required construction to be undertaken in and around an existing operating facility. Maintaining services, meeting building code and Aged Care regulations were additions to the usual complexities of a refurbishment project.
Solutions:
PPM implemented highly detailed staging and communications strategies, to ensure all stakeholders were always fully engaged. This required extensive work at the project establishment phase in planning the staged completion of the works to yield a practical building construction sequencing for the works.
Results:
A seamless transition was achieved with the client for completion of each of the five stages with the client able to maintain their resident occupation numbers, whilst the overall project was delivered within programme and budget.
