Challenges:
The Medibank HQ is a landmark building at Melbourne’s Docklands, PPM was engaged to deliver this $280m 80,000m² GFA base building over 16 levels, with design including a full-height central atrium, dual side cores with 14 lifts. A-grade accommodation delivered with Premium grade services, its ESD features also included Australia’s first ‘living’ façade on a commercial building, 23,000L rainwater storage, to 5 star NABERs and 6 star Green star ratings. PPM also acted as Cbus’ representative in negotiating with tenants and delivering on the Agreement For Lease, directing sub-contractors on fitout delivery.
Solutions:
PPM implemented strong technical construction development knowledge and project leadership skills, with responsive and client-focussed service delivery. PPM also implemented management procedures to achieve successful integration of fitouts, effectively directing the subcontractors in their fitout design and construction tasks.
Results:
720 Bourke Street is a landmark building for Melbourne, a benchmark for its successful implementation of being a healthy workplace. PPM was able to maximise our client’s outcomes by delivering the original design intentions within the constraints of budget and program. We were able to ensure the client met their obligations under the AFL, providing a strong voice to protect them in negotiations with the fitout contractors.
